source : Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) Unknown armed men shot dead an Afghan journalist, called Seyd Hamid Noori, who is also a member of Afghan National Journalist Association, in Afghan capital Kabul on Sunday night, an official said on Monday.
"Noori was killed in precinct nine near his house last night," a police official who declined to be named told Xinhua.
No groups or individuals have yet to claim responsibility for the murder.
Over a dozen journalists have been killed in several incidents in war-torn Afghanistan over the past couple of years.

Tuesday, January 11, Kabul (BNA) President Hamid Karzai chaired the plenary session of Council of Ministers at Gulkhana Palace yesterday. At the beginning of the session, the ministers of agriculture and irrigation, commerce and industries, finance and economy and senior economic advisor of the Presidential Office were assigned to specify the wheat need in 1389 and 1390 and proposes procurement of needed wheat from the Indian market and other neighboring countries and present it to the coming session of the Council of Ministers (CM).
The session also adopted the waiving of tax and other custom duties of wheat to be imported from India. The decision of the cultural, education and services committee of the CM on functioning of safe homes in center and provinces was adopted and it was stressed that the safe homes in center and provinces are being financed by the non-governmental organizations, while the main responsibility of these homes should shouldered by the government from the Islamic viewpoints, it is therefore necessary that these homes should be administered by the ministry of women affairs and the NGO should channel their aid through this ministry. It was also decided that those organizations assisting the safe homes should register with the ministries of women affairs, labor, social affairs, martyrs and disabled with both the ministries within a month based on their work directions.
The ministries of women affairs and the labor, social affairs, martyrs and disabled, the economy, finance and the administration affairs department were assigned to finance the safe homes. Also, the proposal for joining the safe homes with those ministries should be prepared and referred to the CM. The harms of using plastic bags and other materials that may pollute the environment and health of the people was also taken up at the session. The CM also called education and health of the Afghan nationals especially the children and instructed the ministries of public health and information and culture and the presidential advisor in health sphere should propagate through the media the harms of plastic bags in which the chemical material of PBA exists. The ministries of commerce and industries should stop production of plastic bags till the end of this year and seek its alternative.
Meanwhile the municipalities from the start of 1390 should ban usage of plastic bags in center and provincial shops. The CM considering the planned perspectives for creation of a sound administration in which qualification, good governance, and work safety of employees should be considered instructed the independent commission for administrative reforms and civil services and the senior economic advisor of the presidential office to seek usage of the experiences of India and other countries and prepare a proposal for general test in its details for attraction of government employees and present to the CM for approval.
